Administrative Training Institute

Welcome ATI is the apex training institution of the Government of West Bengal The campus having an area of about 14 acres and located in lush green and pollution-free environs of Salt Lake , Kolkata has spacious and aesthetically designed infrastructure. The Institute has been providing quality training to officers of All India and State Civil Services, State Government departments and service cadres. Training programmes are conducted for elected representatives of Panchayat and Municipal bodies as well as for NGO functionaries. The programmes cover induction level and functional training for officials of different service cadres and departments as well as broad areas like public administration, financial management, economic development, management development, trainer development, information technology, disaster management and urban management. Well- designed and comprehensive training modules lay emphasis on interactive and participatory approach. On an average, the Institute conducts more than 100 training programmes in a year. In 2008-09 113 programmes were conducted for a total of 2830 participants

Resident Commissioner of West Bengal

The Office of Resident Commissioner is the principal coordinating interface of the Government of West Bengal in New Delhi serving as an important link between the Governments of India and West Bengal. Functioning as the administrative head of the Government of West Bengal in New Delhi the Resident Commissioner is, inter alia, responsible for following up on the: i) Pending issues/proposals of the State Government with various Ministries of Government of India. ii) Release of grants/financial assistance for various schemes under different programs for the State Government. iii) Proposals to obtain President’s assent on Bills and Ordinances of the State. The office is also an information disseminating agency working to provide information to Government of India from various Departments of the State and vice-versa, render possible assistance by organizing meetings, fixing appointments and providing relevant information and documents for the Governor, Chief Minister, Ministers and other dignitaries during their visit to New Delhi. Obtain clearances for the foreign visits of the VIPs and other senior officials of the State. Represent the State Government in different meetings and conferences. Procure notifications/ resolutions/orders from various Ministries of Government of India and provide them to the State Government. Make all protocol arrangements for the visiting dignitaries to New Delhi. Render official assistance to the people from West Bengal in the National Capital Region (NCR) and its neighboring States at the time of crisis and disaster. Action against women & child trafficking, bonded labour is been coordinated under orders Delhi High Court. In consonance with the direction of the President of India action plan for preventing child marriages is being developed for Purulia and Bankura districts with the active assistance of UNICEF Kolkata.

West Bengal Information Commission

1. How is the State Information Commission constituted?

1. The State Information Commission will be constituted by the State Government through a Gazette notification. It will have one State Chief Information Commissioner (SCIC) and not more than 10 State Information Commissioners (SIC) to be appointed by the Governor.

2. Oath of office will be administered by the Governor according to the form set out in the First Schedule.

3. The headquarters of the State Information Commission shall be at such place as the State Government may specify. Other offices may be established in other parts of the State with the approval of the State Government.

4. The Commission will exercise its powers without being subjected to any other authority.

Vigilance Commission

West Bengal was one of the first, among the States of India, to establish Vigilance Commission in March, 1965. Later it has been renamed as State Vigilance Commission, It is an important enquiring agency under Government of West Bengal. It is entrusted with the task of combating financial and other irregularities, misconduct and corruption in State Administration in order to bring efficiency, transparency, impartiality and integrity among the officers and staff. Presently, the Office of the State Vigilance Commission is situated at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor of Bikash Bhawan at Salt Lake city, DF-Block, Sector-II, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700091.

Anti Corruption Branch

The Anti Corruption Branch was established with a mandate of conducting enquiry into such complaints of the administrative irregularities and complaints of corruption against Govt. employees, employees of Local Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings, Corporations, Societies, etc. under the administrative control of the Government as may be referred to it by the Government. The Anti Corruption Branch has been made into “Directorate of Anti Corruption Branch” vide Govt. Notification No. 580-P&AR(Vig.) dated 12.09.2016. This Directorate of Anti Corruption Branch has no other division and it functions only from its headquarters situated at Kolkata. The Directorate/Headquarters is located in the 9th floor, A Wing, New Secretariat Buildings, No.1, Kiran Sankar Roy Road, Kolkata - 700001.

West Bengal Group-D Recruitment Board
